Jake Ackerman scam man now is starting a business to help others start companies and do everything legally... haha! What a narcissist.
Jake Ackerman is the con artist behind the Run or Dye Scam and many other scams that involve taking money from people, charities, businesses and cities.
See HERE how he conned a charity named "Big Brothers Big Sisters" out of their time and money. He promised them that if they would volunteer for his company "run or dye" that he would donate... And as you know by now, you can't trust a single word from Jake Ackermans mouth. He stiffed the charity as well as thousands of others. What causes someone to become so Narcissistic?
Many people are suing Jake but he hides his money/assets very well. He has businesses in his wifes name, in family friends names and even in his childrens names. What kind of person would use his kids names for his stolen money?
Watch this video on how they scammed another charity: Watch Here
Viral Events owned by Jake Ackerman, will be creating new companies in 2015 to scam more people. Beware of them, we will let you know all the new companies that he creates. Most likely he will create them under other peoples names.
Run or Dye Scam

Run or Dye Review
The Run or Dye scam (created by Jake Ackerman con-artist along with his wife Amanda and his brother Mark Ackerman) has become public knowledge over the last few months. They cancel most events and try not to give refunds until news stations get involved. The events that they do end up having are very poorly thrown together without any of the advertised activities.
They scammed the Charity "Big Brothers Big Sisters" and you can the video HERE
Need a Refund? Just send a copy of this picture to your bank or credit card company, proving that they do in fact offer FULL REFUNDS.
Run or Dye will cancel almost all future events and the ones that they do end up having will be a disaster with no color. So make sure you get a refund for any event you attend that does not have EVERYTHING they promised it would, such as the EXACT size shirt, the correct number of bags, the proper length of race, color thrown at every "color station" and COLD water.
Need to contact them for a refund? Try Emily Faulkner emily@viralevents.com because marka@viralevents.com doesn't ever respond.
Mark has a lawyer named Rick Sorensen that seems to think it's morally okay to defend a con artists.

Hi, I'm a photographer from Oklahoma City. I was hired by Run or Dye/Viral Events to photograph a 5k run on July 26th 2014. I signed a contract with them to be paid via paypal and still have NOT received payment. I have sent several emails to info@viralevents.com with no response at all. I have been trying to contact anyone at viral events with no success.

Here are some run or dye reviews:
Run Or Dye event in Santa Rosa October 11,2014.
We paid extra to have our stuff mailed to us it never arrived! We arrived they did let us cut the line since we complained. I went with a friend 2 of my daughters & my son in law. I'm 60 & my friend is 61 so we walked my kids are 30-40 so they ran. When I saw the first color station I was shocked who was throwing the color no others but my 2 daughters & son in law! They said when they got to the station there was no one attending so they threw otherwise you just had to reach into a box & throw it on your self!! I use an app on my phone RunKeeper it maps my route it was 1.37 miles so even IF you chose to go around twice it was only 2.74 still not 3 miles!! I love "FUN RUNS" doing a Neon Dash is Sacramento on Nov 1st it's going to be AWESOME!!
Just finished the Santa Rosa ca,event.have to say it was awful. They had only 6 employees to register the the 2500 or more participants. Ran out of pins, shirts and only4 color stations. It was only a 1.5 mile race not a 5k. They ran out of color, at the stations we had to get it ourselves, not one volunteer to throw it at racers. Nothing going on after no throwing out of packets of dye.just really loud music. It looked to me that the fairgrounds couldn't get the company or participants out of there fast enough. It was better run and executed last year. Will never do this again. The dye packets were from the color festival not run or dye like last year.
I'm at Hanes City now picked up my packet which was a plastic shopping bag with one tattoo and one bag of color. THAT IS IT. No bracelets, no bag, just shitty. Very disappointed.
Update on Hanes City: the run was in a construction zone they tried to heard us all onto a tiny side walk, made it impossible to run. The water station was a joke, it wasn't manned and they had a kiddie pool of water with a few pieces of ice and about 10 packs of water stacked next to it. By the time most runners got to it we had to rip a warm water bottle out of the pack. Only 4 color stations and 3 of them are on the last half of the last mile. Made most of the run boring. The festival area lasted about 30 minutes and they packed up and left. Another water station same deal. No snacks. Don't pay for this run its a joke. The Color Run is 1000 times better.
-Yeah, for every city where their event hasn't been cancelled they have change the route because they never got the permit so they find a different stop where apparently they don't have to pay as much.
The Santa Rosa event was horrible! Check in was a joke, a woman was just handing out bibs to anyone standing in line, race started 30 min late, 2nd wave and there was NO DYE, nobody on the course throwing color - just a few empty boxes, kids were rolling around on the ground of the horse stables to try to get some color on their shirt (a health concern), the course was only 1 mile long, nothing at the finish line, no music, no large color throw - nothing. This was the worst event I have ever been to. The MC was no help, yelling at people to leave her alone. WORST EVENT EVER!
From Nottinghamshire England 🇬🇧
Absolutely pissed off with this event it just seems like a massive scam.. I want my £28 refunding with Laura Gourlay £28 refunding we have sent many emails regarding how unorganised this event is... I want a reply and will be reporting you to watchdog and trading standards

Today I was able to track down some new information. I called viral
events at 801-810-2905 but no one ever answers. I tried a dozen
extension numbers and someone picked up the phone at extension #110. I
don't remember his name but he told me the company is shutting its doors
in 2 weeks. He also said no body comes into the office anymore. I asked
him if he was getting paid to be at his desk and he said "I hope so."
He also told me to contact Ethan Aylett, Director of Media, but would only give me an email address. He also told me to contact the accounting department, but again, only an email address despite numerous times asking for a phone number.
...still waiting for a response from Run or Dye or Ethan Aylett.

I would like to give a huge shout out to Crys Worley!
Cry is one of the charity victims of Run Or Dye! Last year she was able to raise $7,500 from the Run Or Dye event held for her charity A Skate, which she received her money last yr without any problems. This year she raised 15k that she is now fighting for from Run Or Dye. (This is another reason why fighting for those who are owed money from Run Or Dye is so important! It's not just the charities it's also EVERYONE who is owed their money!)

Run or Dye Refunds
What can con artist Jake Ackerman (CEO of Run or Dye) do to correct his theft of money from so many people?
They claim not to have money yet Jake and Amanda Ackerman have a 750K house that was paid for via a 1 million dollar loan from the bank to a fake company that Amanda Le Ackerman is CEO of. This is all smoke and mirrors so that is more difficult for their house to be taken when people sue them for their fraudulent activities.
Here is what Jared from facebook says about Run or Dye:
- give an automatic refund to everyone from the cancelled events and not only to the few that take time out of their day to complain and request a refund.
- give partial refunds to all people that participated in events that did not have the advertised color packets.
- pay all photographers for wok done.
- pay for the color powder that they owe over 120K for.
- pay PRODIGY for the t shirts of the events.
- pay everyone that they promised money to (cities, charities, clean up crews etc.)

Here is what Jared from facebook says about Run or Dye:
- Many events are being canceled with no option of a refund. They offer to swap the tickets for another race on short notice (sometimes less than a week, when the original was still a month away) and even when people decide to swap they charge extra fees. They continue to sell tickets to canceled events and in many cases aren't paying for services rendered such as clean-up, photography or for the dye that is provided. It appears as though they schedule a lot of events with no intention of actually having them. Once it gets close, they cancel and bank on the fact that most people aren't going to pursue their refund aggressively.

Run or Dye Owes Money to Charities, Photographers and You!
The run or dye scam was created by Jake Ackerman (he deleted his fb page because of us) and Mark Ackerman as a Ponzi Scheme to run events in 2013 (to gain confidence of people) and then cancel most event in 2014 and not offer refunds.
Run or Dye is a part of Viral Events and they are in the business of throwing together horribly planned events (if they don't cancel them) and they never pay anyone that they promise to pay. They get the color from companies and then refuse to pay them. They get "contracts" from the cities and then never pay them. They promise money to Charities and then don't pay them. They hire photographers for the event and then they refuse to pay them. They have shirts made for their events and then they don't pay the shirt companies. They cancel events but leave the registration links up and encourage people to sign up so they can run away with more of their money. These guys are the scum of the earth and their scam is about to come to an end.
If you or someone you know made the mistake of paying this company, please report your experience to the run or dye BBB and contact your local bank/credit card company to report fraudulent activity. Some have had success by going through active.com which is the site they use to have people pay for races. All contact info that they provide on their sites lead to nowhere. Try store@viralevents.com.
See one woman's amazing compilation of many people conned by the run or dye scam- Click Here.
To get involved or learn more visit the run or dye scam facebook page. This page has over 500 members and is growing daily.
The goal of the Ackerman brothers is to "bankrupt" the Run or Dye company while walking away with 7 figures and then their debts to everyone are no longer owed. They will then start up new companies (colorfestival.com and rainbowrun.com) to do it all over again.... That is unless they are in prison.
The scammers at Viral Events/Run or Dye have started to refund some people that make a lot of noise on social media, but ONLY those people. And they don't even refund them all the way, they charge them a cancellation fee as if they cancelled their payment. Cancellation fees are not to be charged when the company cancels the event.

Run or Dye Lawsuit
The first of many lawsuits against Run or Dye LLC and Viral Events LLC of Utah is for $14,000 and is in the Utah 4th district court to retrieve the money due per the contract they
signed. Several people in CT were not paid for staffing the 5k run.

How Some People Are Getting a Refund
- So I was able to get a refund because the Eugene, OR event was cancelled. They did not offer it and it took some leg work on my part but I figured the information should be shared. I called 1-801-810-2905 which is the number for Viral Events. Then I started trying random extensions 101 for a guy named steve, 102 for a chris carlson, 103 for mark ivans, 104 Katy Langston, 105 Joe Thomas, and 106 I finally got a person who said he was new, apparently he had not gotten the memo about not answering your phone. I said I wanted to get a refund because my event was cancelled and I would not be able to make any make up events. I got a confirmation of the refund for myself and my daughter in my email about 10 minutes later. I would suggest to everyone to go through the same process I did then maybe they will create a more user friendly way to get a refund if they cancel your event.
- I called, spoke to 106 (which was the guy who actually was at the event I worked) on the phone, I got my money that was owed to me!! Thanks for this!!

Run or Dye Scam
There are a lot of honest color runs, but Run or Dye is a well known SCAM that is declaring bankruptcy in the future but first they want your money!
This VIDEO explains the scams of Jake Ackerman (owner of epic homes, viral events and run or dye)
Please warn everyone not to register for any Run or Dye events, they have already hidden all of their money so it looks like they don't have money and will be out of business soon. (They are very profitable but are creatively hiding all profits so that they can get away with not paying anyone back once they declare bankruptcy)
Owners of Run or Dye Jake Ackerman and Mark Ackerman of Utah are con artist and owe a LOT of money to a LOT of people, businesses, charities and cities.

The chief technology officer at Viral Events (Steven Lloyd) most likely has knowledge of the scam:
Avoid doing any events like the following scams:

The way to combat this problem is to file a joint lawsuit against Jake Ackerman and Mark Ackerman and their wives (we expect they use their names to hide money). They belong in Prison for Fraud and Theft. They should be on the T.V. show American Greed and with your help they will be caught and punished for their crimes.
Remember that going after "run or dye" won't do much except get back your money that you paid for the race. For them to be brought to Justice a lawsuit has to happen against them personally.

Run or Dye updated their refund policy from saying "We may offer Refund if the new date means you will be unable to attend the make-up event" to not mentioning that you can get a refund:
Events that have been cancelled or “Postponed”
They are keeping registration open on their site in hopes of getting more money from people so warn others not to join.
Here is a screenshot of the old Page allowing for a refund:
And here is their new refund policy:
To get a refund go through Katie Langston as mentioned above.
Other refund options: File a BBB complaint and report fraudulent activity to your credit card/bank.
